Babybel is the youngest member of the Cheese Family: small, affectionate, determined and capable of expressing an astonishing number of opinions using nothing more than a well-timed squeak.
She may be little, but Babybel is very rarely left out of an adventure.

Appearance
Babybel is a small, rounded pale-creamy cheese wedge with large brown eyes, rosy freckled cheeks and an expressive smile.
She wears a cream dress with tiny red details, a red waistband, frilly socks and shiny red shoes. A large red bow sits on top of her head and has become her signature clothing detail.
Babybel is rarely far from Mister Squidge, her much-loved, well-worn homemade plushie. Made from scraps and cloth, Mister Squidge has visible stitching, patches and mismatched button eyes. The family’s stories connect him to an older Mister Squidge remembered from the Fromageville adventures.
Personality
Babybel is affectionate, playful, brave and surprisingly determined.
She communicates through squeaks rather than spoken words, but the rest of the family — particularly Mini — usually have little difficulty understanding her. Her squeaks can mean excitement, questions, disagreement, determination or occasionally something that probably requires immediate adult attention.
She is young enough to toddle after the others, but she doesn’t like being treated as though that makes her incapable. At the carnival she throws herself into the games and accompanies Mini onto the Ferris wheel.
When the Cheese Family later faces the painful reunion with Velvet Blue, Babybel demonstrates perhaps her loveliest quality. While the adults are still wrestling with years of history, Babybel simply runs forward and hugs her.
Family and friendships
Eddie Emmental and Clarabelle Cheddar are Babybel’s parents. Monterey Jack Flash and Halloumi Belle are her eldest siblings, while Mini Mozzarella is her closest little adventuring companion. Sir Blue Vein and Lady Brie are her grandparents.
Mister Squidge is Babybel’s treasured comfort toy and accompanies her when the family ventures away from home.
She also loves Wensley. When he goes missing at the carnival, Babybel solemnly offers up her newly won squeaky pickle toy in the hope of tempting him back.
Stories featuring Babybel
In Chutney and Champions, Babybel cheers on the Disco Twins, imitates the dancing around her and contributes a running commentary of enthusiastic squeaks.
In The Stilton Divide, she travels with Mister Squidge tucked under her arm and quietly helps bridge a family divide through an instinctive act of affection.
In The Crumbly Carnival, Babybel joins Mini in carnival games and their memorable Ferris-wheel adventure.
