Character Bio – Lady Brie (formerly Young Brie)

Image Description.

A triptych-style, storybook illustration shows three life stages of Lady Brie, moving left to right like a journey through time. The panels blend together with warm golden light, symbolising her growth from youth, to dancer, to grandmother.

Left Panel – Young Brie (early years):
A wedge of brie cheese with a soft, creamy golden centre and smooth white rind around her edges. She wears a simple ribbon tied neatly around her middle, practical and modest. In her hands she holds a notebook and quill, ready to write. Her head tilts slightly to one side as if listening carefully, her expression thoughtful and attentive. Behind her is the glow of a bustling cheese market, with hanging lanterns and soft banners hinting at her beginnings as a market guide.

Middle Panel – Brie the Dancer (mid-life):
The same wedge of brie, now graceful and radiant. She wears a flowing sash tied at her waist that sways with her movement. She is shown mid-dance, one arm lifted elegantly, one foot poised as if she is spinning across a stage. Her creamy centre glows warmly, her expression filled with joy and confidence. The background shimmers with glowing lanterns, faint musical notes drifting through the air, and the suggestion of the Stage of Ages.

Right Panel – Lady Brie (elder years):
An older wedge of brie, her rind softened with age. She wears a small bonnet tied with a ribbon under her chin, and her expression is warm, maternal, and wise. She stands calmly, leaning slightly toward the soft golden glow of a fondue fire behind her, the warmth suggesting the heart of Crumbly Bottom. Her posture is steady and reassuring, embodying her role as the family’s matriarch.

The three panels flow seamlessly into one another, creating a life story in images: the curious young guide, the graceful dancer, and the wise Lady Brie.

Character Bio – Lady Brie (formerly Young Brie)

Pronouns – She/Her

Appearance – Young Brie (early years, Trails and Twirls) – A wedge of soft brie cheese with a creamy golden centre and a smooth white rind around her edges. She wears a simple ribbon tied neatly around her middle, practical rather than fancy. She carries a notebook and quill, her eyes bright and attentive, head often tilted as if listening to something only she can hear.

Brie the Dancer (mid-life) – Her posture grows more elegant and fluid. The ribbon is replaced by a flowing sash that moves with her as she dances. Her eyes shine with confidence, and her creamy centre glows warmly under lantern light. She looks graceful, poised, and joyful, often pictured with one arm lifted as if guiding her partner through a dance.

Lady Brie (elder years, Volume One onward) – A dignified wedge with her smooth white rind slightly softened by age. She now wears a bonnet tied with a gentle ribbon, her expression wise, warm, and maternal. She carries herself with grace, often seated by the fondue fire, her hands folded or reaching gently to guide her grandchildren.

Personality – Gentle, resourceful, and quietly determined. Young Brie is curious and thoughtful, collecting stories and songs. As a dancer, she becomes expressive and bold, guiding Blue with patience and encouragement. As Lady Brie, she is the heart of the family — steady, nurturing, and filled with quiet wisdom.

Role across the Volumes:

* In Trails and Twirls she begins as a market guide, helping the explorers but quickly stepping into something more — partner, dancer, dreamer.

* In her middle years, she and Blue share the Stage of Ages, building a legacy of rhythm and storytelling that runs through their family.

* By Volume One she is Lady Brie, grandmother and matriarch, passing down tales and supporting her family with grace and love.

Fun Fact: Brie has kept every notebook she’s ever filled. Some contain market songs and sayings, others the steps of dances long past, and the most recent are filled with her grandchildren’s little sayings.
