The Fruit Salad Olympics – Day Eleven

A cheerful illustrated poster for the Fruit Salad Olympics. Set against a bright blue sky with fluffy clouds, the image shows four anthropomorphic fruits — a smiling strawberry, a happy pineapple, a cheerful blueberry, and a lively banana — all leaping joyfully with their arms raised. Above them, large cream-colored text clearly reads “FRUIT SALAD OLYMPICS” in bold block letters. Below the title are the five Olympic-style rings in blue, black, red, yellow, and green. The entire scene is flat and cartoonish in style, using clean lines, vivid colors, and a playful tone

The Fruit Salad Olympics – Day Eleven – Laps, Leaps and a Hint of Something Strange

With only a few competition days left, the energy in the Fruit Bowl Stadium reached a pulpy peak. Day Eleven was loud, fast, and just the right amount of wobbly. Records were broken. Tempers flared. And… something peculiar flickered beneath the surface.

Event One: The Fruit Bowl 1000 (Relay Speed Race)
Teams of four had to run laps around the stadium — one each — passing a spiky passionfruit baton while dodging melon hurdles, flying pips, and a rogue breeze from the smoothie fans.

Runners included:

* Pineapple Pete (Team Tropical)

* Bluebell Blueberry (Berry Blast)

* Lemon Lorna (Citrus Surge)

* Olive (Team Medley)

* Mango Max (Tropical)

* Ruby Raspberry (Berry Blast)

* Gooseberry Gus (Medley)

* Kiwi Kim (Wildcard)

Team Tropical started strong, with Pete launching like a rocket. Bluebell and Ruby switched batons with practiced ease, while Lemon Lorna took a tumble but rolled back up like a pro. Olive dropped the baton, apologised, and somehow still overtook Mango Max on the final bend.

Gold: Berry Blast
Silver: Team Medley
Bronze: Team Tropical

Event Two: Fruit Vault Freestyle
Each competitor had to launch themselves over a horizontal stack of giant fruit (bananas, melons, and one worried papaya) using a celery pole… and land with a flair of their own design.

Finalists included:

* Clementine Chloe

* Banana B.A. Peel

* Sassy Satsuma

* Figaro the Fig

Highlights:

* Clementine did a front tuck and landed in a split. Judges gasped.

* B.A. Peel yelled “BA-BOOM!” mid-air and landed backwards, arms raised.

* Sassy Satsuma saluted in mid-air before landing and moonwalking off the mat.

* Figaro sang the final note of “I Believe I Can Fly” during his vault. It was… something.

Gold: Clementine Chloe
Silver: Banana B.A. Peel
Bronze: Sassy Satsuma

Oddment of the Day:
Just before the vault final, the stadium lights flickered. For half a second, every screen in the arena showed a single raspberry… blinking slowly. When questioned, organisers said: “That definitely didn’t happen.”

Backstage Whispers:

* Granny Smith was seen pacing behind the bleachers, muttering, “Something’s stirring. I can feel it in my pips.”

* The Coconut Courier’s next headline reads:
“The Calm Before the Splat?”
