Image Description: A dirt woodland path stretches forward, lined with dense green bushes and tall trees on both sides. Sunlight filters gently through the leafy canopy above. A fallen branch lies across the path at about knee height, creating a natural barrier. The scene is calm, with the path continuing into the distance through the greenery.
This morning’s stroll with Detective Indy turned into more of an obstacle course. We were making good progress when Indy suddenly stopped dead, ears pricked. A few careful steps later, I discovered the reason: a branch, sprawled across the path like it owned the place.
Indy, of course, slinked underneath with the ease of a fox red acrobat. I, on the other hand, attempted the classic step-over manoeuvre. It almost worked… almost. My foot caught, balance wobbled, and for a moment I imagined the headlines: “Biscuit Detective taken down by tree limb — ginger nut packet found at scene.”
Thankfully, I recovered my footing before total disaster. Indy’s tail wag said it all: smug satisfaction. Between us, we cracked the case — culprit identified as the weekend wind. Another case closed, and another lesson learned: perhaps fewer daydreams about biscuits, and more attention to the path ahead.
