The Fairycakes Of Fluffwood Hollow –- Character Bio Cherry Tumble

Image Description.
A traditional-style watercolor illustration of Cherry Tumble, an anthropomorphic fairycake. Her sponge base is a soft cherry-pink colour with a glossy ruby jam centre peeking through. She has a swirl of pale pink frosting on top, dotted with tiny sugar crystals.

Cherry has two delicate sugar-lace wings: her right wing is fully open and shimmers faintly in the light, while her left wing appears folded and uneven, a little smaller than the other. She stands on simple cake-crumb legs with small frosted shoes, and her arms are lightly frosted as well.

Her expression is warm and gentle, with wide, hopeful eyes and a shy smile, capturing both her nervousness and her quiet courage. She stands in a soft sugar-mist clearing with peppermint grass beneath her feet. A glowing jellybee hovers just beside her, as though encouraging her to fly.

The overall tone is whimsical and storybook-like — simple yet magical.

Cherry Tumble

Pronouns – She/Her

Cherry Tumble is the youngest of the founding fairycakes. She’s a soft cherry sponge with a ruby jam centre and delicate sugar-lace wings. Her right wing unfurls in perfect pink shimmer, but her left wing has never opened fully — making her flight uneven, uncertain, and sometimes difficult.

That difference doesn’t stop Cherry. She may be nervous and her wings may flap too quickly when she’s anxious, but she has a brave heart and a kindness that never wobbles. Her uneven wing isn’t something that excludes her — it’s part of her story, and she’s learning to fly in her own way.

Cherry Tumble shows that having a disability doesn’t mean you can’t belong, soar, or shine. She is a reminder that every fairycake — like every person — has their own way of moving through the world, and all are equally part of the Hollow’s story.

She’s shy, thoughtful, and sometimes uncertain, but when the jellybees needed her, Cherry was the one who followed.
