Image Description: A glowing river of molten cheese runs through the middle of the scene, forming a dramatic chasm that splits the ground in two.
On the left side stands Lord StiltonSharp, depicted as a stern wedge of blue-veined Stilton cheese. He wears a tall black top hat and sports a moustache, leaning on a cane. Though the artwork shows a traditional cane rather than the lightning-bolt version described in the story, the figure still embodies his cold authority and unyielding presence.
On the right side, the Cheese Family huddle together: Eddie Emmental (tall, fists clenched), Clarabelle Cheddar(triangular wedge, leaning forward in worry), Mini Mozzarella (smaller wedge, nervous but resolute), and Babybel(round, clutching Mr. Squidge tightly). Their faces show fear and concern as they look across the divide.
Above the scene, bold golden letters read: The Cheese Family Chronicles – Volume Three: The Stilton Divide. The whole composition glows with amber and golden light, symbolising the feud that has split the families apart.
Chapter Three: Crumbs of a Feud
That evening, the Cheese Family sat huddled around the fondue fire, the letters spread out like treasure maps between them.
Sir Blue Vein took a deep breath. “It’s time you knew the whole story. Not just about Velvet Blue — but about how the feud truly began.” The room fell silent, save for the gentle bubbling of the pot.
“Back in the days of the Fromageville Explorers,” he began, “there were two rising stars in the group: my grandfather, Old Stilton, and his sibling — a bold wedge named Rindira.” Sir Blue Vein stirred the fondue slowly. “They were brave. Determined. But not always in agreement.”
“One believed the Explorers should protect ancient recipes and lost relics,” said Lady Brie. “The other… wanted to share it all. Open up the vaults. Melt every boundary.”
Mini Mozzarella blinked. “Which one are you and Velvet descended from?” Sir Blue Vein glanced at the scroll. “Rindira. She broke away, vanished into the Curdled Reaches. Some say she found a way to map emotional resonance in cheese. Velvet was her granddaughter — raised on tales of betrayal.”
Mini Mozzarella tilted his head. “But why did Velvet leave us?” Sir Blue Vein finally spoke. “She came to us once. Young, brilliant. She wanted to rebuild the Fromageville legacy — her way. But she and I… we disagreed.”
Halloumi Belle frowned. “About what?” “Whether knowledge should be stirred… or sealed,” he said softly.
Sir Blue Vein opened another letter, written in looping, expressive script. “You sealed the vault. I will stir the world. You build with caution — I dance with fire.” – V.B.
Clarabelle rubbed her temples. “So she didn’t vanish. She chose to go.” “And took her daughters with her,” Lady Brie added. “The Stilton Sisters grew up believing we cast their mother out.”
Monterey Jack Flash stood and began pacing. “That explains the bitterness. The jibes. The cheating.” “They thought it was revenge,” whispered Babybel. “For something we never meant to do.”
Sir Blue Vein looked out the window, where moonlight lit the far hills. “She’s out there. Velvet Blue. And if we’re to heal this crack in the wheel, we must walk the path she walked — and meet her where the feud began.”
Monterey Jack nodded solemnly. “Then we follow the crumbs.” Outside, the wind carried the faintest scent of melted time.
