Image Description: A cheerful illustrated poster for the Fruit Salad Olympics. Set against a bright blue sky with fluffy clouds, the image shows four anthropomorphic fruits — a smiling strawberry, a happy pineapple, a cheerful blueberry, and a lively banana — all leaping joyfully with their arms raised. Above them, large cream-colored text clearly reads “FRUIT SALAD OLYMPICS” in bold block letters. Below the title are the five Olympic-style rings in blue, black, red, yellow, and green. The entire scene is flat and cartoonish in style, using clean lines, vivid colors, and a playful tone
The Fruit Salad Olympics – Day Seven – Pits, Pairs and a Pep Talk from Granny
We’ve officially reached the halfway mark of the Fruit Salad Olympics, and the games show no sign of slowing down. Today brought flying stone fruit, emotional near-misses, and the sweetest moment yet from a certain tart-tongued green apple.
Event One: Pip Precision Archery Held at the Core Centre Range, this event saw competitors launching their own fruit pips at tiny seed targets across the arena. It’s all about control, aim, and not getting distracted by snack vans in the background.
Competitors included:
* Blackberry Ben – quiet but deadly accurate
* Lemon Lorna – too zesty for her own good
* Olive (guest entry from Team Medley) – controversial, but accepted by popular vote
* Granny Smith – returning to the spotlight
Lorna fired fast but wild, hitting a juice bottle instead of the target. Olive stunned the crowd with her stealthy control and stone-pip launch. But it was Granny Smith who earned the biggest cheer — calmly taking aim, planting a perfect pip dead centre, and giving a firm nod before sitting down with a flask of herbal tea.
Gold: Granny Smith Silver: Olive Bronze: Blackberry Ben
Event Two: Fruit Basket Pairs Balance In this crowd-favourite, duos had to balance on opposite ends of a swaying fruit basket suspended above a shallow smoothie pool.
Highlights included:
* Ruby Raspberry & Bluebell Blueberry – elegant, until Ruby sneezed mid-pose
* Banana B.A. Peel & Clementine Chloe – surprisingly steady and charismatic
* Figaro the Fig & Sassy Satsuma – high drama, low balance
Bluebell fell in first with a giggle, while Figaro and Satsuma had a full-on argument mid-performance about artistic interpretation. But Banana and Chloe worked together beautifully, with B.A. even whispering encouragement as the basket rocked.
Gold: Banana B.A. Peel & Clementine Chloe Silver: Ruby & Bluebell Bronze: Figaro & Satsuma (reluctantly)
Post-Event Pep Talk: Granny Smith was spotted speaking quietly to younger fruit near the Pip Range. Witnesses overheard her saying:
“It’s not about the shine on your skin. It’s about what’s in your core.”
Coconut Courier reports that even Mango Max had a little sniffle.
Other Rumours:
* Rogue Raspberry may have left a coded message in the pip scoreboard.
* Olive is gaining fans — could a Medley Team join next year?
* The smoothie pool now contains at least three different emotional tears.
